Today my mind is a carnival of trash
all the rides are out of service
there are ragged orphans everywhere
they are digging through the bins
screaming for justice
in a world that has forgotten it

in a world that has grown belligerent

there are men in denim jackets
whose throats shudder in whiskey roars

starting fires in the parking lot
