You stole off in the early morning running down the sunrise and all its promised glory while I slept in, stuck to the sheets tangled up in bad dreams and foreboding images of the nights we’d spiral out of control in that little apartment. Kokomi, I’m sorry. I never did find the words that I wanted to give you. I lost myself looking for them wandering among the hills of my landfill heart. Kokomi, please believe I never meant to leave a rough sky hanging over you.
