I have not said anything
about this
because I do not want you
to fret or
to worry

but lately
it happens
that I start laughing
out loud and
out of the blue

then other times I will
start weeping
for no reason
that I can discern

and I cannot figure out
if I am losing it

or if I am
finally

with unsteady eyes, I watched you go

that sure gait of yours
suddenly rocking with uncertainty

your knees shaking from the weight
of all those might-have-beens

 

 

 

She was all over me.

 

It hurt so much.
